I am Chandni Verma, one of the interns in Gnome Outreach Program for Women 2010. I worked on Empathy and on this event would like to share my ideas, experiences and work I did as part of this program for this IM/VoIP client.
Talk Abstract
This is a light talk about the my drastic journey from a Gnome user to a reporter and eventually a contributor. I would be talking about how I got involved and went about the commits I made and what all I got to learn. About my experienced and knowledgeable mentor and the other Empathy folks how they supported me. I'd like to add some details on the Empathy bugs and features resolved and fixed by me for Gnome 3 and lastly, I am very much impressed about the program's idea and similar work-from-home opportunities for women and would like to suggest a few ways to spread it to an even larger audience and get them involved.
